Manager/ Software Sales
Job Purpose: Selling the
company's Web Software Applications (Customer Support, Knowledge
Management, etc.) - to uncover prospective customer needs, perform
product demos, engage in technical dialog about functionality and
close deals. Minimal Travel required.

apply for our Account Manager - Software Sales position. We are a
privately held company located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responding to company sales leads
with a consultative sales approach and following through to the
close (closing deals)
- Prospecting to
generate new sales leads
- Performing teleconference/web
demonstrations
- Providing in-depth, technical
product knowledge throughout the sales process
- Answering technical questions from
prospective clients
- Responding to technical RFPs and
preparing proposals
- Documenting and managing product
and service related feedback from prospective clients
- Working as a team player (i.e.
with developers, support staff, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitoring/reporting on results of
sales and marketing efforts.
- Assisting with developing/refining
marketing, sales and advertising plans
- Corresponding with developers (on
functionality enhancements)
- Minimal Travel - most
selling is done on the telephone but occasional travel may be
required (i.e. trade shows, etc.)
Experience:
- College degree in business or
computer science related field
- 2 - 5 years technical
sales/pre-sales experience in a software related field
(preferably web applications)
- Experience with database
management, application integration, corporate network and
internet/intranet infrastructures (Windows Servers, firewalls,
etc.) is a plus
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills including correspondence, proposals,
technical presentations, etc.
- Strong understanding of
information technology (i.e. databases, web applications,
general networking)
- Ability to use consultative,
question based selling methods (i.e. SPIN selling)
- Ability to uncover business needs
and articulate the business benefit and value of company
solutions.
- Ability to tailor product
demos/presentations to prospects specific needs
- Proven ability to sale and close
deals
- Solid negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain
strong, satisfied customer relationships
- Independent self starter that
enjoys the freedom and responsibility of being a key player in a
small, growing private company.
- Inquisitive with the ability to
quickly understand new software and functionality
- Responsive to customer needs
(timely email/phone responses, etc.)
- Professionally tenacious and

Salary: Base Salary plus
